Bali
Bali is a vast island, every part of this Island is unique. After staying in popular parts like the buzzing
Kuta Seminyak and the serene Ubud Nusa Dua, I decided to experience Canggu on this trip. I
managed to get a lovely all-glass Villa on the riverside with an ocean view but I was more excited to see
this part of the island had to offer.
Canggu is almost exclusively Australian has a major hipster vibe. You’ll barely see any locals here of
tourists from other countries. It’s about 20 minutes from Tanah Lot is a combination of Seminyak’s
trendy high street the calm isolation of Nusa Dua. It doesn’t boast of too many luxury resorts but
instead thrives on a concept of Luxury villas.
It’s peppered with cool, fun cafés that look like they’ve stepped straight out of a Pinterest board. Light
Pastel colours, Airy restaurants, white marble top tables, chevron walls with rose gold accents, you get
the drift! They believe in doing unique quirky things like glass straws eco-friendly crockery. The food
is not just Instagram friendly but also extremely fresh Delicious! The streets are full of Australians
milling around in a very relaxed surfer dude kind of a way.
The area seems to have been taken over by Hipsters like how, The sheer number of Yoga Studios,
minimalistic day spas healthy eateries is overwhelming. Almost everything you eat is either organic,
vegan, Gluten-free or a superfood. They’re huge on breakfast Kombucha flows like water. Even
Gelato stores haven’t been spared and serve flavours like Aloe vera, Mint Lime or Bamboo Charcoal
with Tender Coconut.
It was a good break from the usual hectic party vibe some other parts have, these few days in Canggu
were all about relaxing by the beach, eating clean getting spa’ed out. Even though they have a few
beach clubs like the Old Man, the vibe is here is a lot more chilled out casual and most breakfast
places are teeming with people in their surf gear ready to hit the waves. I would highly recommend The
Loft for their Dragon fruit Smoothie Bowl, Milk Madu for everything on their menu The Canteen
Cafe for the vibe! The next time you’re visiting this part of the world, I would tell you to skip the obvious
touristy areas and head here for a unique relaxed vacay.
